Trap Neuter Return (TNR) Program

What is TNR?

In an attempt to manage (and reduce) the feral/community cat populations,  the current method that is most commonly used is TNR:

  1. Trap – humane traps are lent to caretakers to trap cats that cannot be handled.
  2. Neuter – cats are brought to vets/clinics to be vaccinated,  microchipped, and fixed to prevent further unwanted litters.  They are often ear-tipped to identify them as part of a community vs a feral cat.
  3. Returned – cats are returned to their caretaker and community.

Ear-tip: the tip of the left ear is removed while the cat is under anesthesia and being fixed. This allows for a visual identification of community cats without the use of a scanner to read the microchip.

How can I get my cat fixed?

If you currently feed an outdoor cat, community cat, or feral cat please contact us for information.

NOTE: In order to receive this service, you must sign a contract stating you will continue to provide support for this cat.  We cannot spay/neuter cats without a designated caretaker.
